Grandkids
Grandkids are the best! If you're a grandparent, you know what I mean, if you're not a grandparent yet hopefully this will let you know how truly amazing it can be to be a grandparent. Now don't get me wrong, I love my children very much and wouldn't trade any of them but there is something different when it comes to being a grandparent. I have four precious grandkids. I'm going to "brag" a bit about my oldest grandson. When he was 2 (he's almost 14 now), he and his mom were living with me. I remember coming home from work one day and he and my oldest son were outside. As soon as he saw me, he came running to me yelling "grandma". I can't tell you how joyous that was..brought a tear to my eyes. Also when he was around 2, he could name every bone in the body and could show you where that bone was. One night he was sitting on the floor watching one of his movies while his mom & I were chatting. My oldest son came home from work and sat down on the couch; a couple minutes later my grandson got up & walked over to him and asked him where his clavicle was. My son's jaw dropped open and then my grandson pointed to the bone just below his throat. Oh and he loved showing you his flanges! Those are your fingers. Having grandkids is really an awesome experience. Maybe it's because we can take a little more time to see things in their perspective whereas we were to "busy" when raising our own children, or maybe it's because we know at the end of the visit that they'll be going back home, lol, just joking on that one. But they are precious, ALL children are precious. |
